Just one month on we are happy report that the PR campaign - the biggest in the 83-year history of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) – has raised over $1 million in contributions to fund the marketing drive.
The campaign will last three years and is being overseen by PR specialists, Edelman.
“I am thrilled by the support from hundreds of our colleagues and their organizations,” said IAEE Chairman Vinnie Polito. “Never before, in IAEE’s 83-year history, has there been such a collaborative effort to achieve one goal. As a result, we are now well-positioned to launch and support a vital campaign that will benefit our own industry and the customers we serve.”
The campaign will focus on communicating the advantages of face-to-face opportunities, increasing the favorable impression of events, compiling real stories about the power and uniqueness of trade shows, differentiating trade shows from other forms of engagement and leveraging new media and digital opportunities to expand reach and build an online presence.
While new media is certainly an increasingly popular tool for marketing events and communicating with attendees before and after the event, it’s the benefits of face-to-face meetings that will be focused on the most.
In a recent survey, 99% of marketing professionals pronounced their love of B2B events.
