Stretch Your Meetings Budget

budget viceThere may be tentative signs that the event sector is recovering but don’t expect the vice grip choking off those marketing budgets to ease up in the new year. So, if there’s the same – or less – money floating around, it’s time to figure out how to make it work harder. The folks at successfulmeetings.com teamed up with some industry experts to offer some advice.

Swapping Gifts

A corporate social responsibility (CSR) element – instead of gifts – can be rewarding for attendees and cheaper.

“CSR has a direct impact on the bottom line,” says Mike Malinchok, founder and president of S2K Consulting, LLC, a strategic meetings management consulting company based in Newton, PA. “A lot of organizations are making the choice that while, historically, attendees got really nice gifts bags, this year there was an envelope in each room saying we made a donation on your behalf to an organization that gives wheelchairs to children in need. Marketing Technology Is A Trade Show Essential

jagtagMarketing technology is a big umbrella term for pretty much anything electronic or online that can be used to promote your event.

Despite its wide embrace, one thing is certain: marketing technology is now essential to getting your trade show or event noticed, tracking all those leads and judging whether or not your company’s show spend was worth it.

An Exhibitor Magazine survey has just revealed that 82% of exhibitors incorporate technology into their marketing efforts, with more than 72% using a variety of technologies to specifically enhance their exhibit-marketing efforts. This compares to just 49% who report incorporating technology into their company corporate events.

Boosting Events With Facebook

facebook logoLike it or loath it, Facebook can be a useful tool for marketing and promoting your event. It’s not perfect and there are cons but there are some simple ways to add another layer to your event marketing strategy.

First, don’t bother trying to post all your event information on Facebook. Facebook is a social/leisure forum not a business tool and you will be competing with a ton of user-generated content.

Just get your event link up and try lure them off Facebook to your dedicated site, where they will find everything else they need.

Invite Facebookers to comment on your event wall and then engage with them…..

Siemens Booth Scoops Top Award At ASTRO Exhibition

Catalyst Exhibits is proud to announce that the major booth we designed for Siemens has picked up the top award at the recent ASTRO event in San Diego for the American Society for Radiation Oncology.

The booth we designed scooped Best Booth Award/Commercial Exhibit for our client Siemens at what is the world’s largest education and scientific radiation oncology event.

The winning criteria at the event, held last month, were:

  • Visual Appeal
  • Positively promotes & enhances image of radiation oncology profession
  • No booth violations
  • Welcoming atmosphere

Thanks to Lisa over Siemens for letting us know – we’re always happy when our booths take home some awards.

“As you know, it is an extremely competitive arena and the first time that Siemens has won,” Lisa wrote. “Thank you – each of your companies participated in making this happen and I truly appreciate your contribution.”
